HarmonyWare provides NURBS and B-rep translator tools handling the
STEP,
IGES,
SAT (Acis (TM)),
Parasolid XT,
openNURBS (Rhino (TM)),
VDAFS,
and
STL
file formats. Libraries are provided as portable C++17 standard source code. We regularly test on Windows, MacOS, and Linux, and use all three platforms for different aspects of development.
Our self-contained libraries can read these file formats into basic geometry and topology structures, or we have
interfaces to the
NLib,
TSLib,
POPLib,
SOLIDS++,
TSNLib,
SMLib, and
SMLib v9
geometry engines.
(Finally starting the major revamp this web page has needed for at least a decade!)
- October 2nd, 2026: Anticipated HWLibs 2.9.3 release week of October 5th. This version adds various small improvements plus support for SMLib v9.
- July 18th, 2026: Beginning to roll out the HWLibs 2.9.2 release. If you think you should be getting a copy of this release and you haven't by July 24th, please contact us. For an overview of what is in this new release, please see the README.
- January 24th, 2026: Well, HWLibs 3.0 is taking much longer than expected. However, it's much closer to done now, and we hope to have the IGES and STEP translators up and running on the new system sometime in the next couple of months.
- July 25th, 2024: The sale of NLib and SMLib to NVIDIA created a number of legal and logistical challenges that have prevented us from releasing a new version of HWLibs since 2022. We are hard at work on HWLibs 3.0, with the goal of eliminating the low-level code and translators from any dependence on NLib or SMLib, as well as updating the source code to work well with C++14 and beyond. The current goal is to have an "alpha" version of this ready for release in the fall.
Older News
